Canadian airlines “Canadian North Airlines” and “Westjet Aviation” decided to ignore their own regulations regarding the inclusion of pets with passengers on their flights when a unique and horrifying incident occurred in the city of Fort McMurray in the province of Alberta in Canada earlier this year.

The city of Fort McMurray became the epicenter of a series of large-scale forest fires which destroyed hundreds of homes and forced many residents to evacuate their home and the city itself. Since many of the residents had pets and had no time to prepare a separate evacuation for them, it seemed that many of these animals would be abandoned and probably perish. When “Canadian North Airlines” and “Westjet Aviation” became aware of this dilemma facing the residents and their animals, the airlines decided to waive its regulations of not allowing pets on their flights and gave the evacuated families the opportunity to bring their pets with them to safety!

Many voices of gratitude and appreciation from the evacuated families.

Here is photo of a person who is the owner of pet who was allowed to fly on the plane and this text message on social media (SNS) is one example of dozens of messages sent by grateful family members.

Your kindness saved our pets.
