200 People Form a Bucket Brigade to Hydrate a Beached Whale!!!

A beached whale was discovered in serious condition recently and inspired 200 people to work together as they formed a bucket brigade to hydrate the giant mammal until it was later freed and returned to the ocean!The heroic efforts of these compassionate people stimulated a huge amount of interest with online viewer from all over the world!

This incident occurred in New Zealand on June 5th when two whales were discovered beached by local people walking in the area and the situation was reported to authorities immediately including the New Zealand Ministry of Environment and Conservation and staff of the Nature Protection Organization Project joined in the effort to rescue the whales!

Rescue Attempts of the Two Whales.

The two beached whales were experiencing difficulty breathing and their skin was becoming dry so a decision was made to hydrate the giant sea mammals and stabilize their condition until a rescue plan could be formulated.

Fresh water hydration and a 500 meter gap.

It was a situation where urgent hydration was required but the location of the beached whales posed a huge problem as it was more than 500 meters separating the beached whales and access to fresh water! Salt water could not be used in this situation so a water bucket brigade of the people at the scene was formed to hydrate the two beached giants!

A total of 200 people which included volunteers and local residents passed bucket after bucket in order to hydrate the stricken whales! It was a remarkable scene that continued non-stop for hours!

Efforts were also made to free the whales from the beach by digging away sand around the mammals while guiding seawater to surround them. One volunteer actually brought a small steam shovel to aid this process.

The people’s combined efforts ultimately resulted in the whales eventually breaking free from the beach and returning to the ocean in surprisingly good condition despite their harrowing ordeal!s

The people involved in this dramatic rescue should be commended for their resolve to help these animals in distress and the amazing teamwork that was displayed throughout this ordeal!

Humans seem to have a special connection with whales so it was wonderful that both of the creatures survived and could return back to their ocean home!
