This incident took place in the city of Voronezh in southwestern Russia. It seems that people began reporting the cries of an animal under a sidewalk near the city hall. When city authorities finally investigated the matter, they discovered a dog had somehow been buried alive during a recent road development project.

The dog had somehow become trapped in this small space and no one noticed the animal when the workers covered up the space with bricks.

Here are the workers frantically trying to remove the bricks to access the animal.

Then, a lot of soil had to be removed with shovels.

At last, the dog finally appears above ground for the first time in two days!

The contractor paved the street without noticing the dog.

This derelict building was being demolished and it appears that the dog has fallen into a hole near the building location. Construction workers failed to notice the trapped animal and the hole was completely covered by road crews. It is truly a miracle that this dog was able to survive!

This dog was also pregnant at the time of this incident but suffered no serious injuries during the ordeal!
