A 9-year-old girl decided to build a house (shelter) for the homeless and this amazing act of kindness and generosity became a huge hit on the internet with thousands of viewers.
Helping a Friend in Need.
Hayley Ford-chan is a 9-year-old girl living in Washington state. At first, she was motivated to build the structure to “help a friend”. It seems that she had a friend named Edward, whose family was having problems so she decided to help.
Here is an original plan for the shelter created by Hayley.
The wooden shelter comes with windows and doors and is big enough for one person (about 2.5 m × 1.3 meters). She received support from local construction companies which provided her with building materials and tools to complete the job. Her goal in 2015 is create 12 more shelters of the same scale and size.

Vegetables Grown for the Homeless.
In addition to the shelter, Hayley also decided to grow vegetables as well. In 2014, she was able to grow 60 kilograms of vegetables which was donated to a local food bank. The goal in 2015 is to harvest 113 kilograms of vegetables. Again, it is a wonderful example of setting and achieving goals by a very special young girl.
Currently, she remains fully active in her activities to help support people in her community.
What did you think? The amazing efforts and determination of a 9-year-old girl to help people in need is truly inspiring and I congratulate on achieving his goals and improving the community that she lives in.
