This endearing image of this elderly professor holding a baby at the same time has become a big topic online with viewers from all over the world.

Sydney Engelberg, a professor of Hebrew University in Jerusalem was lecturing a class on organizational behavior when the above incident occurred.

During the lecture, an infant of one of the students started to cry and disrupt the professor’s talk. The mother was student attending this class and had brought her infant with her. The student Mom was about to leave the class so as not to disturb the other students and the lecture when Professor Engelberg stopped the mother, picked up the child in his arms and proceeded to continue his talk while holding the child in his arms at the same time!

There are many student-mothers who attend university classes in Israel and they are encourage to bring their children with them to the class. This custom allows many more people to attend university without the burden of being separated from their infant children.

So, this seemingly unusual gesture by the professor was in fact a normal situation that often in a university lecture in Israel.
