In previous treatments for thinning hair, transplanted hair follicles from another host have been used to grow dermal papilla cells but the rates of hair growth volume capacity has been an issue. “This new discovery has the potential for dramatic improvement over existing therapies that rely on it to transplant hair follicles from another part of the head”. Steps are being taken to commercialize this technology and is said to be preparing to enter the final testing and trial stage for practical use.

Many people facing the challenge of thinning hair and it is estimated that 41 million people only the United States (including approximately 20 million women). Thinning hair treatment has huge potential business applications.
