Here is an amazing work of art created by the Japanese sculptor Kaoru Shun Kanemaki which is called “Tayuta Caprice” which is the figure of a young girl with a unique multifaceted face which has 12 unique facial expressions!

The sculptor has described his work on Facebook as follows:

“Tayuta” means “rocking” and this piece attempts to convey the various hidden emotions which people have in the back of one’s mind which everyone experiences.

The production process of Kanemaki’s work along with this unique view of the world has become a popular topic with many online viewers in many countries overseas. His work starts off with a simple log and is roughly cut with various tools using a small size model.

Here is a drawing of the face of the girl.

Here is the log being transformed into the shape of a girl using a chainsaw. The face has yet to be started.

To create the multi-sided face of this work, the sculptor uses hand tools to create the intricate contours of the young girl’s face which is then transformed into life by the use of vivid colors which have been painted on the completed female figure.

This work has been described as a work of “Japanese popular culture” and has received rave reviews from many people!
