Numazu City is located in the western part of the Izu Peninsula and is known as a scuba diving mecca in Japan. However, there is another mysterious attraction that also draws tourists from all over the country which is a small freshwater pond that is completely surrounded by seawater! It is called Ose’s Kamiike (Ose’s Temple Pond) and it is a sight that is truly amazing to see!

“Ose’s Temple Pond” is a pond located in the precincts of the nearby Ose Shrine. When you look at a photograph directly over the pond, some unique shapes are clearly visible.
