Professor Rosie Dutton regularly gives lectures on psychology on such topics as emotional control methods and introduced this unorthodox experiment with the two apples.First, he shows the children in the class two apples and asks the question of where are the different points of each apple is?

Many children in the class answered “they look the same” and there are no different places and they look just as delicious as the other apple”.

Then the professor picked up one of the apples and tells the children the following message.

I dislike this apple. The color is bad, and the stem is somewhat strange. I hope everyone hates this apple.

The children are then instructed to place negative words on the apple or to say negative words at one of the apples while placing positive words or saying positive words to the other apple.

When the apple was cut in half, there was a certain change!

After the children spoke to each of the apples, the professor then cuts the apple in half. The contents of the apple is clearly different. The apple which received the negative message is discolored and appears injured while the apple which received the positive words is fresh and looks lovely!

It is said that the children were generally shocked by the fact that the contents of the apple became so pathetic as a result of the numerous mean words that they expressed towards it.

The apple had been hurt on the inside by the negative words. A wounded heart through violence of words.

Actually, the professor had secretly damaged the apple before the class while not damaging the outside of the fruit.

I wanted to teach you that there is an “invisible bully”.

The professor attempts to convey a message that appearances can be misleading and that people can be deeply hurt on the inside by the power of negative words.

There were many encouraging posts on Facebook supporting the message of this lesson and praising the professor’s message to young children that negative words expressed towards other people is a form of bullying and should be stopped!
