Katmai National Park is well known for the amazing diversity of wildlife including large populations of brown bears and salmon and it attracts tourists interested in watching wildlife in their natural habitat!

On this day, a mother bear and her three cubs were hunting for salmon in a fast moving river!

The mother bear is fishing while trying to keep an eye on her cubs as the salmon struggle to move upstream in the fast moving current of the river!

The tiny bears are having a hard time maintaining their balance in the current!

Suddenly the situation changes and a sense of panic ensues with the mother bear!

The three bear cubs have been swept away by the strong currents of the river and are headed toward a waterfall! It looks really dangerous and life threatening!

Eventually, the bear cubs were swept over the waterfalls and to some shallow water further down the river! All were unharmed and the mother bear and her cubs reach the shore and head off into the forest!
