“I was right!” “I want to challenge your decision!”
Despite being at a disadvantage after a referee appeared to make an incorrect decision during a tennis match, a tennis player was heard to encourage his opponent to challenge the referee’s call even though it was not to his advantage to do so during a competitive match! Many people commented that this was a display of “true sportsmanship”.
A Tennis Tournament called the “Hopman Cup” between Australia and the United States!
In January 2016, a professional tennis match between Jack Sock of the USA and Lleyton Hewitt of Australia took place in the “Hopman Cup” was held in Australia.
In the photo, Hewitt was wearing a white hat when there was a judgement by one of the officials on whether the ball was out of the court.
As the Australian player is about to serve his second service, the American player shouts over and says “If you want to challenge, please go ahead!”.

While the entire crowd watched the video, the official’s error was quickly revealed and the admission of honesty by the player was justified.
After the video review, the corrected call was upheld and the crowd applauded the two players for their sportsmanship.
True sportsmanship seems to have faded recently in professional sports but this act of honesty was warmly received from all over the world. It is not if someone wins or loses but how you play the game!
