Here is a single photograph that captured the world’s attention as it introduces the tragic consequences of climate change as the Arctic region in northern Canada has become a land without snow or ice and the demise of the polar bear is clearly shown in this heartbreaking image that became a huge topic of discussion with online viewers from all around the world!

This photograph was taken by a photographer Patty Waymire who visited Barter Island which is located in the Arctic Ocean near the coast of Alaska.

A world without snow and ice.

Barter Island is located in the Arctic Circle and is known to be totally covered by snow and ice during the long Arctic winter. However, the photographer was stunned to see that the island was completely free of snow! The winter habitat of the polar bear has completely disappeared due to the effects of climate change.

The impact of global warming is affecting regions all over the world and the land and sea of the Arctic Circle has been significantly damaged. The formation of sea ice in the winter continues to decrease every years and the ecosystem of seals and polar bears is in danger of disappearing forever.

Without snow and ice, the Arctic looks like a barren and lonely land.

Global warming and climate change caused by “greenhouse gas emissions” continues to damage ecosystems and poses a serious risk to all forms of wildlife. The polar bear appears to be one of those species that could disappear forever if climate change continues to destroy the land of snow and ice.
