I do not think this situation occurred by chance, perhaps it was fate…

Here is a photo of an elderly woman and her pet cat for the last 14 years. They both later died on the same day a few hours apart. This is their story.

A Stray Cat from the Animal Shelter became her best friend.

The elderly couple had always had pets so they went to the animal shelter and selected one of the homeless cats. This was Gabby who was only 2 years old at that time.

Death of Her Husband.

This elderly couple had lived a happy life with each other but when her husband died the elderly woman really depended on Gabby to help her pass the time so this companionship helped to fill a large hole in the woman’s heart after the death of her husband.

The Cat and the Woman Helped and Healed Each Other.

The cat and the woman developed a deep and lasting bond and their daily routine was the cat nestling happily on the lap of the woman for hours at a time.

As the years passed, there were concerns about who wold take care of the other if something happened.

Gabby and the Elderly Woman Passed Away on the same day just four hours apart.

One day Gabby began to help trouble breathing and the elderly lady took her to the veterinary clinic and unfortunately a few hours later died in the woman’s arms. Just four hours later, the woman started having chest pains and decided to return home to rest. She passed away while sleeping on her sofa.

Gabby was able to be in the arms of the elderly lady until the end. And, the elderly lady was able to care for her sick cat until the last moment of Gabby’s life. What a rare and poignant friendship that these two companions would pass away within a few hours of each other.

I hope that these two best friends are in heaven together and enjoying each other’s company forever!
