Adidas is promoting the development of sneakers that uses waste plastic material (such as fishing nets and pet bottles) that has been discarded into the sea. Adidas is collaborating with environmental groups to tackle the plastic waste problem of the sea with the “Parley For The Ocean” agreement and is aiming to launch the product in 2016 and has become a hot topic online.

Solving the Serious Marine Debris Problem.

A serious marine debris problem of 46,000 pieces of plastic trash per one square mile per currently floating in the world’s oceans. Such debris damages the ecosystem and is swallowed by fish and birds creating a major problem. Adidas was concerned about these issues and “Parley For The Ocean” is planning the current project. Sneakers using the marine debris is the so hopes to raise awareness of the people to the marine debris problem.

Sea Shepherd Environmental Protection and Recovered “Fishing Net Debris”.
