※Muscular Dystrophy: the incurable disease in which the muscles start to atrophy and can no longer support walking normally.

A Daily Challenge to Carry His Friend

Sha Asahi-kun (18 years) was attending a large High School in Jiangsu north of Xuzhou China.  Soon after admission, he met Cho-kun (19 years old) who was suffering from “muscular dystrophy”.

The two young men have been living together in a student dormitory.

Sha Asahi kun, supports Cho-kun in all daily life activities such cleaning, cooking and transporting him to and from school and everywhere else. Cho-kun (height 173cm, weight 75kg) does not have enough significant body mass to move himself so his friend has become his arms and legs.

Going from class to class at school as well as a round trip from their dormitory to school every day means that Cho-kun rides around on piggyback at least 10 times a day.

Every day, the assistant principal at school has continued to watch the two students and has been impressed with them  “despite not having any support from family and relatives, have maintained a strong focus and dedication on their studies despite the physical challenge caused by Cho-kun’s inability to walk over the past 3 years.

Sha Asahi-kun is doing a fantastic job and is striving for both Cho-kun and himself to study and spend every day with the hope towards the admission to the university in the future.

“Compassion”, “Friendly to People”, such as “Gentle Heart” …. Even knowing the challenge before me, I don’t know if I could do this if I had the same challenge in front of me.

Looking at the relationship between these two people, it seems to me that it implies something to do with true friendship.
