Why is this weasel on the back of this flying woodpecker?
An amateur photographer living in London, England captured this surreal image right out of a special effects Hollywood movie while out on a walk with his wife. A weasel has somehow climbed on the back of this woodpecker and both are now flying through the air!
Apparently this scene was precipitated by an attack on the bird by the weasel and the woodpecker was apparently trying to escape from the aggressive rodent’s assault. Later on, it appears that the woodpecker was able to shake the weasel off its back and escape to safety.
Here is an image from the popular children’s animation series called “The Wonderful Adventures of Nils” which also had some unusual scenes of animals and humans flying on the backs of birds in a harsh world of life and death in nature.
