Here is a mobile remote controlled camera disguised as a “baby penguin robot” capturing close up video footage of emperor penguins in the wild!

This “baby penguin robot” was created by a collaboration between a film director and biologists from the United Kingdom (UK) for filming emperor penguins engaging in the birth and nurturing of their young chicks in Antarctica. Previous attempts to design a remote mobile camera in such harsh conditions ended in failure until this prototype underwent a successful demonstration shown above.

The Baby Penguin Robot was Improved.

The newest version of this remote controlled mobile camera was modified so that it resembled the actual appearance of a baby penguin so as not to disturb the other penguins nurturing their young nearby. As shown in the photo below, the camera creators were successful as they were able to guide the camera right up an adult and baby penguin.

The real penguins appear not to notice the “baby penguin robot”!
